FAQs
Which colour analysis service should choose?
If you want something straightforward and easy-to-understand, I recommend the 16-Season Colour Analysis Service. This is the most common system (like what you see on social media) and for those who simply want to know what colours complement their natural appearance so they can revamp their wardrobe. The palette you receive will apply to your clothing, hair, and makeup. This service also has the option of a fabric swatch wallet to help guide you through shopping. You’ll receive a clear result as this service is strictly objective and uses colour theory and your natural biology to determine your season.
If you’re more invested in your appearance, especially makeup, you may want to consider the Korean Colour Analysis Service. The results aren’t as simple since you’ll receive multiple colour palettes including your “daily” season, your colour season for makeup, and your top sub-season from each of the other seasons. This service is more interactive and is mainly objective, using a mix of colour theory and statistics.
Summary: If you prefer a clear, easy-to-follow guide to the colours that suit you best, go for the 16-Season Colour Analysis. If you’re looking for a more detailed and interactive experience, especially if makeup is a significant focus for you, the Korean Colour Analysis will provide the depth and personalization you seek.
How can I prepare for a personal colour analysis consultation?
For a comfortable draping experience, don’t wear a hoodie, turtleneck, or tight-collared shirt. To ensure accurate results, please arrive with no makeup, earrings, or coloured contact lenses. Consider wearing clear contacts instead of glasses. If it's not possible, totally fine. There may be instances when I'll request you to briefly remove your glasses.
Where does the personal colour analysis service take place?
Our personal colour analysis services are conducted in Markham, Ontario.
Do I have to be filmed during my colour analysis?
Not at all! I only record those who consent to being posted on social media. You’ll express your consent during the booking process, but I will ask you again in person, just in case you change your mind.
Can you send me a copy of my recording?
Due to various reasons including time constraints, size of the files, and risk of losing footage, I do not send out the video files. You are more than welcome to make your own recording during our session.
How is the accuracy of personal colour analysis affected, and what assurances are provided during consultations?
While we strive for accuracy in every consultation, it’s essential to acknowledge that personal colour analysis can be influenced by factors such as lighting. Rest assured that each session is conducted with precision and dedication. In the absence of good natural lighting (with a colour rendering index of 100), the colour analysis session will be performed under artificial full-spectrum lighting. with a CRI of at least 90. The 16-season colour analysis system is not subjective and uses your biological makeup to determine your palette.
What are your qualifications?
I completed the Colour Analysis Qualification program at the International Image Institute and further advanced my expertise with their intensive in-person training, earning a Certificate in Colour Analysis Mastery. Under the supervision of Karen Brunger, a renowned leader in image consultant training and the Founder & President of the International Image Institute, I had the pleasure of conducting client consultations with a focus on accuracy and received positive feedback.
I was also trained in the Korean tonal colour analysis system with Cocory Color Research Institute Co. Inc. ((주)코코리색채연구소) in Seoul, Korea. Additionally, I’ve dedicated extensive hours for over two years to studying colour theory and both Korean and Western colour analysis to enrich my understanding and proficiency in the field.
As of November 2024, I’m training with a Japanese academy on their colour analysis system, as well as earning a Certificate in Image Consulting for both men and women.
If my skin tone has changed due to tanning or a medical condition, how does that affect my colour analysis?
Although the overtone of your skin can change for various reasons, your undertone typically remains consistent. It can still be accurately determined, irrespective of changes in your overtone. Factors like medication, diet, pregnancy, smoking, sickness, and more can influence the overtone, which is what we see on the surface of the skin. It’s important to note that your colour analysis results from the 16-season system are for life.
Which system of colour analysis do you use?
I was trained in both the 16-season colour analysis system and the Korean tonal colour analysis system. Your analysis will be conducted based on my expertise and knowledge of colour theory and the colour analysis service you choose.
