Top Blushes Used by My Clients

One fun part of my colour analysis services is checking out the makeup products my clients use to see if they’re the best shades for them. This is done at the end of the session, after figuring out their undertone and colour season.

After looking through hundreds of makeup bags this year, I’ve noticed some popular brands, products, and shades that my clients love. Maybe it's because these brands nailed their marketing, or the products are just that good. Either way, I thought I'd share a list of the top blushes my clients use, for anyone looking to try something new. This isn't a scientific study, just what I've noticed and remembered from going through tons of makeup products every week.

P.S. This list isn’t in any particular order.

NARS Powder Blush in Orgasm

When a client shows me their NARS blush, it’s almost always in the shade Orgasm. It’s a peachy pink that doesn’t work well on cooler tones. If you’re a True Winter, Bright Winter, or Bright Spring, you might want to try Thrill instead.

Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush

I didn’t even know about this Merit blush until I saw more and more clients using it. I immediately added it to my to-buy list for the next Sephora sale! The packaging is adorable, and I’ve had clients bring these in multiples because of their cute size. Most of the shades run a bit warmer, but Stockholm and Cheeky stand out as the coolest (pinks).

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

I haven’t met a single client who dislikes Rare Beauty’s liquid blushes - I even have a client who owns nearly every single shade! The most popular cool-toned ones among my clients are Happy (dewy cool pink) and Encourage (soft neutral pink), while the most popular warm-toned shade is Joy (dewy muted peach).

Dior Rosy Glow Blush in Rosewood

My clients who love Dior beauty products love the shade Rosewood, which is a beautiful medium-dark pink that leans warm. If you’re a Muted Summer, this might be a good blush shade for you.

Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Liquid Lip + Cheek Blush Stain

I’ve only ever seen the shade Benetint from my clients and had no idea it came in other shades until now! While the liquid looks like a very deep purple in the bottle, it applies as a cool pink.

Tower 28 Beauty BeachPlease Lip + Cheek Cream Blush

The most common shade I see is After Hours, a “sun-kissed berry” that looks perfect for a Winter or Deep Autumn person.

PATRICK TA Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo

This is another “new to me” blush that I’ve added to my shopping list after seeing a bunch of clients have them. I’m very intrigued by all the cool pink shades and am excited to try them out!
